Top Honor in Student Art Exhibit “Miles for relief” - She walks miles to bring relief to her family. As she sweats in the desert sun, a water-drop slithers down her pot. Unaware of the dangers in her treasure, she brings disease to her children. Donated by: Marina Martinez, Grade 12

Second Place in Student Art Exhibit “Goal of Water Partners” - Illustration of the goal of WaterPartners: promoting the availability of clean water to those in need. Clean water is the building block upon which a reasonable standard of living is started. The idea seems simple, but the task is very complex. Devotion to this complex task is what makes the organization inspirational to me. Donated by: Greg Holloran, Grade 12

Third Place in Student Art Exhibit "Lionfish" - Many beautiful creatures, including humans, on our planet rely on water to survive. This lionfish, like many others, thrives on clean water. I have learned to appreciate in the world’s natural reliance on water. My piece was inspired by the beauty that partnership creates. Donated by: Sarah Hardison, Grade 12

Honorable Mention in Student Art Exhibit “Itsy-Bitsy Spider” - Reminiscing and sifting through memories associated with rain drops: inspiration in the form of a song. Even though he got totally washed out by rain, he went right back up the waterspout after he was dried out by the sun. One should take advantage of all the webs in their lives and not be easily swayed by the rain. Donated by: Katie Tharrington, Grade 12

Honorable Mention in Student Art Exhibit “Blessed” - The drawing shows Mother Nature blessing her Earth and the people on it. The drawing has a very spiritual meaning; when in suffering things will heal and get better. Donated by: Michelle Cobb, Grade 12 “Drop of Hope” - This year’s theme is water drops: oversize water droplet coming out of vase as if the water is being poured out of everyone. A butterfly is reflected on the edge of the vase - a symbol of hope in many cultures. Donated by: Allison Cook, Grade 11

“Essential Element of Life” - It is evident that water is an essential element of life. The importance of it inspired this piece that combines the elements of water and earth. The tree symbolizes the water cycle that rotates through the sky and ground, just like how it rotates through our bodies, nourishing our souls. Donated by: Ally Lasley, Grade 11

“Movement of Water” - Inspired by the movement of water. An abstract view of water combined with its surroundings. An array of colors is presented in the water droplets reflecting light around it. This artwork shows a different view of the water that surrounds us. Donated by: Jenna Leitner, Grade 11

“Theme of a Rain Drop” - Visualizing a simple metaphoric concept of the relations of water to life through flat unicolored relating objects. The simplistic style directly relates to the simple life equation of water + energy source =’s sustained life. Donated by: Graham Schaafsma, Grade 11

“Clean Water” - This piece of art inspired by the need of clean water for the entire world. Not every person can turn on clean tap water to drink in their kitchen. Every person should be able to have access to clean water daily. The water drop is providing clean water for everyone around the world. Donated by: Stephanie Yang, Grade 12 “Astonishing Things” - Volcano shaped like a jug containing water represents the astonishing things some people have to do to reach water - A basic necessity that we so take for granted. Donated by: Katherine Meeks, Grade 11

“We all Need Water”- Inspired by how often we take for granted the little things that matter. We need to conserve water and use it responsibly. Donated by: Julie Moore, Grade 11

“Life Giving Water” - A pair of hands pouring water that then becomes sand, which falls into an endless desert. The inspiration: to reveal the scarcity of water in Third-World countries and that water is life giving. Donated by: Jessica Castillo Grade 10

“Tear Drop”- Eye shows a closed eye emitting a teardrop. In the reflection of the drop is a scene that show a dry horizon, like those who are forced to walk miles for water that isn’t even clean see every day. The inspiration behind this drawing was all of the struggle put forth by so many people less fortunate that us in order to survive. Donated by: Frank Brechbiel, Grade 10

“A Cup from Your Neighbor” - Every generally well-off country is trying to help the less fortunate countries get the resources they need. Inspired the artist to make the cups from other countries pour their little bit of water into the huge pot that the woman is holding. Donated by: Matt Atkins, Grade 11
