Maria Caprio is the Senior Manager of Strategic Alliances. Maria plays a leading role in forging new strategic partnerships and stewarding key current partners to advance our mission of safe water and sanitation for all.
Maria has a great depth of experience, having worked in private equity and non-profit fund raising, philanthropic consulting, impact investing, state-level policy-making, non-profit direct services, and global business development and finance. Prior to Water.org, Maria was a philanthropic and impact investment consultant helping foundations and individuals to build and scale mission-driven programs in the US and internationally. Previously, she served as Director of the Shanti Project, focused on securing care for low-income women with life-threatening illnesses. She began her career in the finance world, starting as an investment banking analyst before moving into a fundraising and business development role in private equity.
