Nicole Wickenhauser | Senior Development Manager

Wickenhauser helps people understand the water crisis and Water.org’s work to address it, while raising the funds needed to execute the organization’s life-saving programs. She has more than a decade of experience in building relationships between organizations and their key audiences in order to achieve fundraising, communications, and marketing objectives.

Wickenhauser brings best practices from across the agency, corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors to her role at Water.org. She began her career at Fleishman-Hillard in Chicago, where she worked on healthcare accounts including Abbott Laboratories, Cleveland Clinic, and Zimmer Holdings. Looking to focus on one client, Wickenhauser joined Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare, where she handled media and public relations for the nonprofit healthcare system, and helped raise funds for the Elmhust Memorial Hospital Foundation. Prior to joining Water.org, Wickenhauser worked in communications at Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies. Her wide-ranging responsibilities included media relations, public affairs, newsletter publication, employee communications, and community outreach.

Commitment to Water.org

“I have always wanted to help improve the health and lives of others, and Water.org offers an unsurpassable opportunity to do just that. By spreading Water.org’s message and inviting people to support its efforts, I hope to help achieve its vision – the day when everyone in the world has access to safe drinking water and the dignity of a toilet.”
