TEAM Water.org Membership Agreement

Mission Statement

Team Water.org (T.W.O.) is a community of endurance athletes - including triathletes, runners, cyclists, etc. – whose passion for sport is matched by a strong commitment to addressing the global need for ready access to clean, safe drinking water. As advocates of Water.org, T.W.O. member-athletes raise awareness of the water crisis – both within the endurance sport community, and in their community at large – through training, racing and event participation. In addition, members directly support the work of Water.org by way of fund-raising and donating in connection with racing.

Membership Criteria

• Chose at least one race per year for which they match the race entry fee with a donation to Water.org.
• Read the Water.org website, train and race in T.W.O. uniforms and promote the work of Water.org. (Team apparel is not mandatory if members have other team affiliations.)
• Pay the annual $25 membership fee (the cost of supplying one person with clean water for life) in the form of a donation to Water.org.

• Discounts on gear and accessories, training products, coaching, and more. 
• An access code for online purchases of extensive Team Water.org training and racing gear, and team uniforms.

Membership Details

T.W.O. welcomes athletes of all abilities and incomes. Member-athletes are encouraged to match all race entry fees with Water.org donations, yet they may match just one race entry fee per year. (Fund-raising strategies are available at Water.org.) When member-athletes make the $25 annual donation (the cost of providing one person with clean water for life) they will receive a Thank You Letter, and a URL and password to purchase a variety of team apparel at their discretion, in which they are encouraged to both train and race. Water.org is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and thus donations are tax deductible; apparel purchases are not tax deductible. Members will be automaticallly subscribed to a private email distribution list for monthly team announcements and incentives but may unsubscribe at any time. T.W.O. member’s email addresses remain exclusively at Water.org and will not be shared. Questions may be directed to teamwater@water.org.

Team Water.org Member Contract

I pledge to do the following as a member of Team Water.org:

• Make a $25 annual donation to Water.org in order to be part of Team Water.org.
• Make a donation – either via fundraising or my own funds - to Water.org that is at least equal to the race entry fee of at least one race per year in which I participate.
• Read the Water.org website to the extent that I understand their work to bring clean water and sanitation systems to developing countries.
• Protect online discount codes and team access codes from people outside of Team Water.org.
• Support Water.org, by promoting their work and by training and racing in my team uniform. (Members can maintain additional team memberships and choose not to race in Water.org apparel.)
