When discussing the improvements safe water and a toilet have made in her family's lives Masura explained that her children are healthy now and that is all she ever wanted.
From fear and heartache to comfort and pride
Meet Masura
Today and every day millions of moms wake up early, take up their vessels, and walk miles to collect the water their families need. For Masura, this was once a daily reality. During her long journeys to collect water, Masura dreamed of the day when those walks would come to an end, and she could provide her children with safe water and a private toilet at home.
“It was difficult and scary for my children”
Through our work in Bangladesh with local financial partners, TMSS, Masura’s dreams have become a reality. With a small loan through TMSS, Masura gave her family lasting access to safe water and a private toilet. With affordable, lasting access to these essential resources, Masura's fear and heartache have been replaced by comfort and pride—because now, she can better protect her children and their health.

The Key to Solving the Global Water Crisis
An article by Matt Damon and Gary White, Water.org co-founders
The global water crisis affects billions—undermining health, education, and economic opportunity. In this TIME article, Water.org Co-founders Gary White and Matt Damon explain why traditional aid alone isn’t enough—and why closing the $85.6 billion annual financing gap is essential to solving the crisis. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience, they make the case for a bold, scalable approach: mobilizing capital across the philanthropic and investment spectrum to bring safe water and sanitation to every family, everywhere. The piece highlights the human impact—how a small loan can free up hours in a woman’s day, help girls stay in school, and allow farmers to manage their crops. It also makes the economic case: every $1 invested in water and sanitation yields a $4 return through improved health, productivity, and opportunity.

The global water crisis is one of the most urgent and complex challenges facing humanity today.
For millions of people around the world, access to funds stands between them and safe water and sanitation in their homes.
