Ethiopia Sand Ditching from Water.org
On a recent visit to Tigray, Ethiopia, we visited a village water collection point. It was a river about two miles from the village. It had recently rained so the river wasn’t completely dry, but as was normally the case, women and children had dug trenches in the river sand ditches to collect water, one cup at a time. Some in this area call this water collection technique sand ditching, others call it river harvesting.
Production of this video was made possible by the ongoing support of the Open Square Foundation.
