Summary

The Finance Lead, Fundraising & Revenue Management will be responsible for leading and collaborating in creating standardized fundraising (revenue) workflows and analytics to support the management and forecasting of relevant data trends, issues, and opportunities to create value-added business reporting. This role will enable our fundraising leaders to forecast incoming donations and business insight trends via standardized processes and system solutions. They will handle complex financial reporting requirements and support the design and implementation of key system tools and technology. The Finance Lead, Fundraising & Revenue Management will support ad-hoc reporting to ensure ongoing improvement of varying workflow processes and tools. The successful candidate for this role is expected to establish, implement, innovate, and influence the adoption of approved best practices. The Finance Lead, Fundraising & Revenue Management will have oversight in developing annual revenue budgets and establishing both actual and forecasting reporting cadence. This individual will be expected to directly influence and impact F&PA results for the organization while fostering communication with all organization levels, including leadership and internal execution teams. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting
  • Under the overall direction and guidance set by CFO, assist in the formation of the annual budget and the reforecast process, and support the maintenance of this information in Adaptive Insights / Finance system.
  • Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and distributing monthly financial reports to budget managers, which track expenses and revenues vs. budget / re-forecast, and dissects fluctuations.
  • Provide relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the quarterly performance results against historical trends, budget, forecast, and strategic plans that will be used to help drive management decisions as to any course correction or adjustments.
  • Responsible for informing finance leadership team of operational needs/requests as related to budgetary impact, including managing the operating budget by entering forecasts to provide accurate projection reporting.
  • Lead budget managers in the development and management of annual fundraising budgets.
  • Responsible for conducting variance analysis, establishing tracking of fundraising balances by type and purpose to determine strategic plans to meet the organization’s goals.
  • Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates to be used by the Fundraising and Marketing team to ensure quality, accuracy and focused analytic reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing department to track and analyze grassroots donations and charitable giving.
  • Develop, validate, challenge and explain key trends, indicators, and performance.
  • Increases productivity through process improvement (data gathering, models, schedules.)
  • Establish new forecasting capabilities, including tools and technology, and processes for revenue and fundraising efforts.
  • Responsible for driving processes that aid the accuracy of revenue forecasting partnering with the Finance FP&A team.
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of the end-to-end process for revenue generation and fundraising.
  • Support the annual audit process through the preparation of financial information.

Scope Data

  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of accurate budgets and forecasts in collaboration with Finance Leadership and Budget Managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field required. MBA is preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in a role performing operational financial analysis job functions, including budgeting, forecasting, planning and financial reporting
  • Experience utilizing accounting systems required. Experience in Financial Edge, QuickBooks and Adaptive Insights is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with financial modeling, analytics, reporting business performance, planning processes, ad hoc analysis, and project management required
  • Thorough understanding of company financial statements
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Advanced skillset in Excel
  • Strong self-starter skills and inquisitive nature required
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork experience required
  • Solution-oriented problem solver with strong communication skills (verbal and written) required

Travel Requirement

Up to 5% of domestic and global travel.
