Job Overview

The Finance Systems and Applications Manager is a pivotal position that combines financial expertise with technology acumen to lead and enhance system support for the global finance team while fostering collaboration across the organization. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring seamless integration of business needs with technology workflows, data management, and systems to optimize efficiency and accuracy. The incumbent in this position will act as the primary liaison with the Technology department to facilitate evaluation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of finance systems and related applications.

Job-specific Accountabilities

System and Application Management

Works collaboratively to lead the evaluation, implementation, and management of modern global financial systems and applications, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency. Troubleshoots and resolves system-related issues. Manages relationships with third-party vendors and technology providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring that service level agreements are met.

Workflow Management

Ensure the success of the finance team by resolving workflow issues, supporting the development and maintenance of documentation, and partnering with the Finance team to improve and automate work tasks. Drive process improvements in financial operations, often using technology and data-driven insights.

Data Governance

Maintain and improve data integrity by establishing and enforcing best data management practices in partnership with IT and other teams. Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards. Generate reports and analyze data on Financial Systems data.

Information + Business Advice

Serves as a subject matter expert for finance workflow and process management, and system operations. Provide training and support to finance team members, as well as end-users, on system usage and best practices to optimize their capabilities. May participate in cross-functional workgroups, projects, and committees, and interact with individuals or groups representing diverse backgrounds, interests, and points of view.

  • Leverages deep and broad knowledge on financial operations and system and application management to guide internal teams to determine primary needs and goals to create solutions to meet those objectives.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and relationships, requiring adaptive thinking and solutions to unique circumstances and department-level requirements.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex data and concepts in a concise manner (verbal and written) to a variety of audiences.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent related work experience and certifications in information technology, system administration, project management, or related disciplines.
  • 7 or more years of progressive experience with financial systems and applications administration and/or analysis, with at least three years of experience in technical project management.
  • Experience with end-to-end Financial System implementations including needs assessment, system evaluation, configuration, testing, data migration, training and go-live.
  • Deep foundational knowledge of finance operations and workflows.
  • Proficient (written and verbal) in English.

Travel Requirement

  • Up to 10% of domestic and international travel

This position's desired location is within the East or West Coast of the United States. The following states are preferred: California, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Washington, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania. Other states registered to hire are as follows: Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

Salary and Benefits

This position offers a base salary range of $95,000-$105,000. In addition, this position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan up to 10%.
